 Endomyocardial fibrosis is a common cause of heart disease in the tropics. It presents in three clinical forms: mainly left­sided as mitral incompetence; right-sided with features suggestive of constrictive pericarditis, and the third form involving both sides of the heart presenting as congestive cardiac failure.
